Heartline Update

Heartline offered the following significant impact that the generator, inverter and batteries that our Club helped purchase for the Maternity Center in Haiti has had on their operations:

Since this equipment has been in use, Heartline has had a 75% decrease in diesel costs and significantly more consistent electricity. Prior to the new generator, inverter and batteries that Rotary provided, the Maternity Center had about 1 hour of electricity after the city cut off the electricity, which happens for long periods of time every day. The Maternity Center can now go for 12-15 hours with power when the city electricity is off! It has positively impacted not only the financial bottom line but also dramatically improved the quality of care, especially when so many babies are born at night when the city power is off.
