New Member Orientation
We will be hosting a New Member Orientation Wednesday, June 22 beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Connie's house and everyone - all of us - are invited to attend.  We laugh, we cry, we have a group hug - ok, if that doesn't work to get you there, how about we just serve appetizers and beverages. You will learn about the uniqueness about our Club (we're a little bit of a rebel club, in case you hadn't noticed); you will find out about our fundraisers and service projects; most importantly - we will get to know each other better.  Everyone is invited to come whether you are new or less than new! It's for the already oriented, slightly disoriented or I-can't-find-my-car-in-the-parking-lot disoriented - all are welcome!
Speaker Assignments List
The new Speaker Assignment List is done!  Check out the link (which is in the list of links below and here for your convenience) to see which month you have been assigned. You have a team of people to help find speakers for each month.  If there are 5 Wednesdays in your month, feel free to contact the Vocational Chair and she will find one or two of our own members to give vocationals for one of your weeks.  After you know who your speakers are for each date, send your bulletin editor (that would be me) an email with the speaker's name, job title, topic and if they have any technology needs like a projector or laptop.  If it is your speaker for a particular week, you are responsible for introducing the speaker and for doing the invocation that day.  If you hesitate about praying in public, you can find a substitute pray-or.  Just ask!
2016 Rotary Literacy Award Announced
Rotarians realize that knowledge and skills gained through literacy are related to schools, libraries, media, social service agencies, and many other nodes and vectors, both formal and informal.  The West St. Paul/Mendota Heights Rotary Literacy Award is given to pay tribute to an individual, program or activity that has made a difference in some way. The 2016 West St. Paul/Mendota Heights Literacy Award will be awarded at our regular meeting on June 22, 2016.
