New Member Orientation
We are holding another fabulous social event we like to call New Member Orientation, just to make the district happy!  Ha! It's really just a fun time to get together and eat some appetizers, laugh and hang out after work.  It's a nice, relaxing environment with no pressure, no expectations, nothing scary.  We will be going to Katie Lowe's house on January 16 - look at the Events section of the newsletter and find the event on January 16. If you click on it, all the information you need for the times, location, it's all there.  Here's a picture from 2017's "graduating class."
Bring a Friend Event
We are asking everyone to bring a friend on Jan. 23 to our regular meeting.  We are excited to announce that our speaker is the Chair of the Metropolitan Airports Commission!  It will be a great opportunity for us to showcase who we are, what we do and the interesting information that we receive each week.  So, as we refresh our membership, BRING A FRIEND and invite them into the family.
Opportunities to Serve
Are you looking for more ways to plug into Rotary?  Here are some ideas:
  • The District Literacy Team.  Our district is looking for team members to help promote literacy throughout the district. Projects include Little Free Libraries, Reach Out and Read, and Books for newborns.  Please contact Al Drazil at zdra0004@umn.edu or 951-675-9838 or visit the Rotary District 5960 web page and click on the Vocational Page.
  • Rotary District 5960 Mid-Term - January 12 at Hamline University's Anderson Center from 8:30-3:00.  You can expect to hear from special guest speaker Geoff Cochran from Rotary International as well as from Gustavus students on membership trends and what young people are looking for in a service club.  Break out sessions include human trafficking, climate change, public image, rotaract and more!  Registration is free, the event is free, the lessons are priceless.  Go to www.rotary5960.org.
