Upcoming Events and Activities
Here's what you need to put on your calendars for volunteering opportunities...
  • THIS WEEK - Thursday - Oct. 4 - Loaves & Fishes (contact Marv if you want to help)
  • Oct. 6 - 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. - WSP Police vs. South Metro Fire Charity Hockey Game (contact Jackie). All proceeds benefit 360 Communities. We are a Gold Sponsor of the event so we have a table.
  • Oct. 30 - Loaves & Fishes (contact Marv)
  • Oct. 31 - WSP's Halloween Extravaganza (contact Marv). Start bringing candy to our Wed. meetings for the Halloween Extravaganza.  This year, we will be handing out candy at WSP's Trick or Treat Trail in Harmon Park from 6-8 p.m.  So, when you see the Halloween candy in stores, instead of saying, "You've got to be kidding me - already?"  pick up a bag and take it to Rotary!  Bags of Dark Chocolate are especially appreciated by the members of the quality control committee.  We will also need volunteers to help hand out the candy that night.  Costumes are optional.
  • Nov. 13 - Ethics Day (contact Katie). We need setter-uppers, table monitors, food preppers, sponsors, etc.
World Polio Day
October 24th is designated as World Polio Day.  Rotary International has saved countless lives over the past 30+ years with its End Polio Now campaign.  The mission is not complete so come be part of the livestream event on October 24 at 5:30 p.m. CDT.  #endpolio|www.endpolio.org Be the inspiration and help to End Polio Now!
Foundation Celebration Event
The 17th Annual Rotary Foundation Celebration will be on November 10 at the Inwood Oaks Event Center.  Join the District leadership and Clubs from around our district in celebrating all the inspirational stories (Be the Inspiration), virtual reality situations, wall of wine, 50/50 raffle and an incredible dinner.  Clubs love to showcase their fundraisers and projects so it's a great way to learn new ideas for us as well as to mingle with other Rotarians in our part of the planet.  Go to the Rotary District 5960 website for all the details or Click here -->More Information. The Club will pay for you and a guest to attend - just let Bridget know you are interested!
Odds & Ends
You may notice that there are events on the calendar that we haven't mentioned at our Club meetings.  We started adding some of our District's activities on our Events Calendar, such as the Tap Room Tours and the Rotary Foundation Event.  We are all invited to these district-wide events and some of them we'll even pay for! (Not the tap room tours, Bob, Marv and Don. Buy your own beer.)  We will pick the fun ones and try to give some detail about them, but your best bet is to look at the District website.
