District Governor Visit This Week
THE DISTRICT GOVERNOR IS COMING!  Please plan to attend this week's meeting and comply with my annual request of being on your best behavior.  District Governor Jim Hunt will be our speaker and it looks good for us (because we are kind of a rebel club who tends to get in trouble a lot with the District) to have good attendance for the Governor's annual visit.  Board members are requested to stay for a few minutes after the meeting for a Meet-and-Greet with the Governor.  You might even be able to get an autograph.

Board meeting recap
We had a Board meeting last Tuesday and here's a recap of what we did:
  • Confirmed that Ethics Day is scheduled for Wed., Nov. 16 at Thompson Park.  Katie Lowe volunteered to MC the event!  Details are forthcoming...
  • Moonstruck netted about $20,000, and Vision Loss Resources will receive $8,000 from our proceeds as the designated charity - thanks to all who helped
  • Sadly, but officially accepted the resignations of Bud Shaver and Mark McNeill
  • Gladly approved a donation request of $500 to the Friendship Club, sponsored by BankCherokee
The next Board meeting is Oct. 18.  Anyone is welcome to attend and see what we do in the secret back room.
Great Halloween Get Together
TONIGHT  is the Great Halloween Get Together!  Show up just before 5 p.m. at the corner of Marie Ave. and 7th Ave. in our neighboring community of South St. Paul - and you'll find the Rotary banner with a little table next to it just waiting for YOU to hand out candy to 1,000 trick-or-treaters!  We open at 5 and close up at 7 - so it's quick, it's fun and even though the Land family has participated in the festivities in the past, costumes for Rotarians are optional.
