Agricultural Commission
Last week's speaker was Joshua Huntsinger, Commissioner/Sealer of Weights and Measures with the Agricultural Department of Placer County. He shared about the mission of the Placer County Agricultural Commission. He shared the commission's role in our county and community, managing the parks, trails, and open spaces we all enjoy.
Christmas Tree Lighting
Last Saturday at Quarry Park, we set up our booth to serve chili, keeping the crowd warm at the Tree Lighting eventand providing an opportunity for our club and the students from Interact clubs to share our "Rotary Why" and highlight all the good work Rotary does in serving the community. It was a great event, and even though we had more chili than last year, we ran out early. Chris came to the rescue and picked up more chili, allowing us to serve for a little longer. The community loved the booth and the hot chili; we even received a nice amount of cash donations.
Let’s Make a Difference Together
Even though the final push of the 2025 South Placer Rotary Club Diaper & Sock Drive ended this last Saturday, December 6, since we are dropping off donations on Tuesday, if you still have or want to donate, bring them today, Monday 12/8, at the drop-off location — Broadway Residence – 2004 Denton Ct, Rocklin (front porch drop box!).
Our Annual Christmas Basket Program is in full swing, and Shelly is leading the charge like Santa on espresso! She’s already secured 10 families with 21 children (and counting!) who we’ll be supporting this holiday season. Shopping is nearly wrapped up—Bruce and Chris are teaming up with Toys for Tots to make sure every kiddo gets something magical.
Reminder: The Gift Packing event has moved to the 16th.
We need six cheerful elvesto help withPackaging Night: Tuesday, December 16th, 6:00 PM Damian’s office – 6556 Lonetree Blvd, Ste 100, Rocklin
Toys for Tots can use our help, and it is another great opportunity to support our community.
Toys for Tots can still use your help assembling bikes, organizing toys, and distributing them. Their biggest needs are:
December 8 - 12, 10 am - 4 pm for toy organization and assembly
December 14, 15, 16, 10 am - 4 pm, toy distribution.
Additionally, they need people with pickups, SUVs, or vans to pick up toys from drop-off sites.
Let's recognize our fellow Rotarians who have been living the Rotary way of service above self. Nominate a member for the Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award
