March is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate and reflect on the vital roles that women play in our communities. We want to use this occasion to recognize women in Rotary for their tremendous contributions. Rotary and Rotaract clubs thrive when they create a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Compassion Planet
This week's speaker is Scott Flanagan, Co-founder of Compassion Planet. He will be sharing about their mission to empower aged-out foster youth & youth from at-risk backgrounds to achieve independence, overcome personal obstacles, & reach their fullest potential through their various programs.

Brewfest Kickoff
Last week's speakers were our very own Chris Delaney and the Brewfest Committee. This was our annual Brewfest kick-off to learn about the event, this year's plan, and how you can support and volunteer to support before, during, and after Brewfest. The Rocklin Brewfest is Placer County's Premier Beer Event, put on by our club, the premier club of District 5180. This is our big fundraising event, so let's all get involved to make this the best year yet.

What's Happening in Rotary
Coming up this month, on March 28th, is the 5180 District Leadership Assembly. The Rotary District 5180 District Assembly is the premier leadership training event designed to prepare incoming club officers and board members for a successful Rotary year. The District Assembly is more than training — it is where vision becomes action, and leaders are equipped to make a lasting difference in their clubs and communities.

We have the following club service events coming up.

Run Rocklin, March 29th - Provide water on the course with our Interact clubs and present awards to runners at the finish line. - Contact Randy Green on how you can help

Adopt a Creek Program, April 25th - an environmental initiative where the club "adopts" a section of a creek or waterway to help maintain and protect it. The program is run by the City of Rocklin. - Contact Ken Broadway on how you can help

More information on these and other service projects to come. Keep an eye out for updates in the newsletters and our events calendar on the club site.
