Today is Son and Daughter Day. It's a day dedicated to appreciating the unique bond between parents and their children, encouraging quality time which is very important today with so many distractions.
This week's speaker is Dr. John Jackson, President of Jessup University. He will provide an update on Clover Valley. Jessup University and Placer Land Trust have already protected 402 acres of Clover Valley—one of the last intact oak-and-riparian woodlands in western Placer County. To finish the job, we must safeguard the remaining 52 acres now threatened by a 558-home subdivision and new roadways.
Placer Justice Foundation
Last week's speaker was Debbie Boyd of Placer Justice Foundation. The foundation is a coalition of survivors, victims, officials, community members, organizations, business owners, and stakeholders all working toward a common goal of a brighter Placer County. She discussed and shared the mission of the foundation to provide financial support to bridge the gap in victim services, fund outreach and awareness campaigns, and empower our community’s voices to inspire others.
Shop with a Cop
We had a great service project with a great turnout this last Saturday, August 9th.
In partnership with the Rocklin Police Activities League, this annual event provides underprivileged children with the opportunity to shop for school supplies and other necessities alongside our local police officers. The program helps foster positive relationships between police and youth, creating an uplifting environment where trust and community spirit thrive.

Location:Pleasant Grove Creek(Between Stanford Ranch Rd & Farrier Rd, next to Twin Oaks Park)
This is a great opportunity to roll up your sleeves, help beautify one of Rocklin’s natural spaces, and spend a few hours making an immediate impact in our community. We'll be picking up trash and clearing debris along the creek and open space area — and yes, the City will supply gloves, bags, trash grabbers, and will even handle the hauling!
