This week, in observance of the 4th of July, we do not have our lunch meeting. Cheers and Happy Birthday to the USA. We hope you all enjoy the upcoming holiday weekend and can celebrate with friends and family.
20th Anniversary & Passing the Bell
Last week, we celebrated passing the bell and the club's 20th anniversary. In Rotary, "passing the bell" signifies the symbolic transfer of leadership from one club president to their successor. This act is accompanied by a final ring of the bell, followed by the gavel being passed, representing the transition of authority. Since we are the premier club in the district and know how to have fun, there is an added twist: the tradition starts with the stealing of the bell and making the outgoing president do some activity to get it back, so they can then pass the bell. Let's just say Chris did a great rendition of the Vikings' fight song, among other things.
As part of the evening festivities, recognition was given to those who served as officers, board members, and committee members, and for their service to the club and community for the 2024/25 Rotary year. We welcomed our 2025/26 Rotary Club President, Damian Lima, who welcomed the new officers, board members, and committee members. The event was a beautiful evening with great people and great moments.
We want to give a special shout-out to Chris Delaney, Mary Lee Hope, and others who helped plan the big 20-year anniversary event.
