This day in history. On November 17, 1800, Congress convened in the still-under-construction Capitol Building in Washington, DC, for the first time.  The Capitol Building would undergo several expansions over the years, eventually growing to 16.5 acres.

Stand Up Placer
Reminder: This week's meeting is offsite at Bennett's in Rocklin, at the same time, 11:45 AM - 1:00 PM.

This week's speaker is Gary McDonald, Executive Director at Stand Up Placer. He will be sharing about their mission to save lives by empowering survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, and to educate communities to stand up against these issues. They achieve this by providing comprehensive services, such as emergency shelter, housing, counseling, legal support, and community awareness programs, to survivors and their families in Placer County. Gary will be sharing more details about their programs and ways to get involved and support.

Aerospace Museum Tour
Our Aerospace Museum Tour event took place last Wednesday, and it was a hit with the kids, despite a scheduling issue with the guest speaker - it gave the kids more time to explore.

What have we been up to
Last Saturday, November 15th, some of our members and spouses got together for our Club Social, Cards, and Gars Night. It was a great opportunity for research (know when to fold'em, know when to walk away, and when to run). It was a great time had by all, and we hope we see even more members and spouses next time. Randy and Veronica had graciously opened up their home for the event, and Randy said we will be doing this again, maybe as soon as January, and are looking to expand the games to include Bunko and possibly more.

Let’s Make a Difference Together
The holiday season is upon us, and there are numerous opportunities to give back to our community.

South Placer Rotarians and friends
We are well underway with our 2025 South Placer Rotary Club Diaper & Sock Drive 🧦🍼
Now through Saturday, December 6
Help us make a BIG impact for students/families this holiday season!
Your donations will directly support the Sierra College Basic Needs Center and students with young children, as well as families served by local community organizations.
We’ll continue accepting donations through Saturday, December 6.
Every diaper, can of formula, box of wipes, and pair of socks helps a local family in need. Refer to the event calendar for more information on how you can donate and contribute.

Together, last year, we donated:

Sierra College Basic Needs Center
3,394 diapers
4 containers of formula
1 case of wipes

Rocklin Chamber of Commerce Sock Drive for Individuals in Need
350 pairs of socks

Let's come together and make a bigger donation this year.

Also, our Annual Christmas Basket Program is in full swing, and Shelly is leading the charge like Santa on espresso! She’s already secured 10 families with 21 children (and counting!) who we’ll be supporting this holiday season. Shopping is nearly wrapped up—Bruce and Chris are teaming up with Toys for Tots to make sure every kiddo gets something magical.

Now we need six cheerful elves to help with Packaging NightTuesday, December 9th, 6:00 PM
