We Love Memoirs Day has been created so that readers and authors can be brought together to observe this incredible style of writing. A memoir is more focused than an autobiography. It looks at an intimate moment in time, rather than going through the full history of a person’s life. On We Love Memoirs Day, we honor this incredible form of writing and we take the time to appreciate some of the amazing memoirs that have been published over the years. We are also provided with the perfect opportunity to start our own memoir, should we wish.
This week's speaker is Dr. Laura Heintz, the Chief Executive Officer, and Erin Stone, the Executive Director of Philanthropy and Communications, at Stanford Sierra Youth & Families. Stanford Sierra Youth & Families provides a continuum of care to empower youth and families to overcome challenges together, and connects youth in foster care to the permanent, loving families they need and deserve. They are transforming lives by nurturing permanent connections and empowering families to solve challenges together, so every young person can thrive.
Placer County Housing Update
Last week's speaker was Nikki Streegan, Housing Manager of Placer County Economic Development & Housing. Nikki provided an update on programs and policies tailored to the unique needs of both East and West Placer County and how they are working to enhance our community’s access to affordable housing.
