National Civics Day on October 27th honors the same day in 1787 when the first Federalist Papers were published and used as a philosophical basis for America’s Constitution. These Papers mark an important foundation of civic education and discourse in our country. National Civics Day is an opportunity for Americans to answer the call by President John F. Kennedy that “democracy is never a final achievement… It is a call to an untiring effort.”
This week's speaker is Captain Luke Sincerny, Operations Division Commander for the Rocklin Police Department. He will be sharing about a career in law enforcement and his journey from the Oakland PD to the Rocklin PD.
Wreaths Across America
Last week's speaker was Joanne English, a location coordinator for Wreaths Across America. She is dedicated to remembering, honoring, and teaching the importance of veterans' sacrifices. She encourages the public to help reach the goal of placing a wreath on every veteran's grave by sponsoring a wreath or volunteering on Wreaths Day. She shared more about Wreaths Across America and its mission to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation the value of freedom.
We also had a new member induction. We welcome Luke Sincerny as our newest member.

Last week, we had our Club Social at Cante Ao Vinho. It was a great time filled with great fun, friends, wine, and food.
Service Opportunity

Our Aerospace Museum Tour event is coming up in two weeks. The project involves RUSD middle school students who are part of the school's STEAM program. Students participate in a docent-led tour of the California Aerospace Museum. The project represents an educational experience where students are guided through an aerospace museum by knowledgeable docents (volunteer guides).
The tour is designed to engage students in the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) by exploring the history, technology, and science of aerospace. Rotarians join in the docent-led tours and assist in providing a pizza lunch to the students, which is followed by a talk with a guest speaker.
The tour date this year is on Wednesday, November 12th, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Our Rotary Club provides pizzas for lunch to the students and volunteers. This is in place of our regularly scheduled Wednesday meeting.
