This week, do not miss an excellent opportunity to support our exceptional Rocklin Unified School District students. Students from local high schools work with their advisors and Rotary representatives to develop and present a speech to the sponsoring Rotary Club. Winners then go on to the District Semi-Finals and the National Final. Cash prizes are given at each level.
Alzheimer's Association
Last week's speaker is Alexandra Castillo-Weisgerber, the Director of Care and Support for the Alzheimer's Association Northern California, Northern Nevada chapter. She shared the organization's mission to lead the way to ending Alzheimer's and all other dementias by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. She focused on the work done on a local level to provide care and support for all those affected by Alzheimer's and other dementias.
Chamber Sock Drive
Reminder there is still time to donate:
The Chamber of Commerce extended its sock drive and will collect socks through February 13th, when they host their February breakfast. The Chamber has collected 1,511 pairs of socks so far, with more than 298 pairs donated by Rotarians!
If you are interested in donating additional socks, they indicated that they are a bit low on infant and kids' socks. Of course, they will still take socks of all sizes, but if you are going out to buy socks, infants and kids would be great! Socks can be dropped off at the Chamber office (3700 Rocklin Rd, Rocklin, CA 95677), or you can join the Chamber at their breakfast on February 13th (details can be found at https://web.rocklinchamber.com/events/GoodMorning%20Rocklin%20Breakfast-12375/details).
