"On 21 September, the world marks the International Day of Peace.
Today, amidst staggering volatility, the search for peace feels overwhelming, but it has never been more urgent.
Peace is more than the absence of war; it is the foundation necessary to collectively tackle humanity’s challenges. It is the lived experience of safety, dignity, opportunities and cooperation in our daily lives.
Under the theme Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day, this year’s International Day of Peace honours the ‘everyday architects of peace’, people driving local action, laying the groundwork for stability, and building a lasting peace from the ground up.
Remember, peace isn’t just built in conference rooms, it is shaped by everyone, everywhere, every day."

Last Week's Events
Last Thursday, 9/17, was Feed My Starving Children Food Packevent. Our Club, other Rotarians, and volunteers came together for the Annual Placer Feed My Starving Children MobilePack at Jessup University. The event continued through Saturday. A great way to support our community to create a lasting impact.
Last Saturday, 9/19, was Hot Chili Cool Carsevent. This annual event is a favorite for residents, visitors, classic car enthusiasts, and chili aficionados. Free to attend, it features the area’s coolest cars and fiercest chili cooks, all competing for bragging rights in the Classic Car show and Chili Cook-off. We had our booth out there, with members sharing our Rotary story.
Upcoming Events
This Saturday: Adopt A Creak - The beavers are at it again—and we need your help!
Join us for our next Adopt-a-Creek project on Saturday, September 26, from 8:00–11:00 AM at the back of Johnson-Springview Park, near the pedestrian bridge on Farron Street, just off Whitney Boulevard.
We'll be coating tree trunks along one of our creekways with a mixture of sand and latex paint to discourage beavers from gnawing on the trees for food or using them to build dams and lodges.
It's a humane and effective approach to creek and wildlife management—and a great opportunity to get outside, serve our community, and discover just how much Rotary can accomplish with paint, sand, and a few willing volunteers.
Reach out to Ken for more details and to sign up to volunteer.

Member Socials
Don't have FOMO, be there: We have some great club socials coming up this Rotary year to build community and connection among club members and their partners. These events help build support for our service projects by giving club members an opportunity to get to know each other better and their partners to learn more about the club.
Save the date for some upcoming socials:
An Afternoon of Fine Wine, Fellowship, & Fun; Saturday October 24th 12:30 to 4:00 PM
Night of Creativity, Fun & Fellowship, Painting Party; Wedensday, Februrary 11th, 6PM
Keep an eye out for more details on these and other social events. A big thank you to Laura & Steve for coordinating.
