This week's speaker is Dick Fowler, the District Youth Protection Chair; the presentation will cover District 5180's Youth Protection (YP) program, why we need it, and what it takes to get our Club certified.
Rocklin Historical Society
Last week, we had Gloria Beverage, President of the Rocklin Historical Society. She shared the latest news and events as well as the Society's mission to generate community interest and support for the preservation of Rocklin's Heritage.
We also had a couple of special events at the meeting last week, including Mary Lee's induction.
And she won the 50/50 raffle, winning over $1000.
Little Free Library Program
Our club donated approximately 60 children's books to the Rocklin Library. Below is Michele Vass, a recent speaker at our club and president of Rocklin Friends of the Library, with Chris and Damian. The little bookhouse you see below is what they call a Little Free Library, which has been installed at many parks in Rocklin.
Barktoberfest
Reminder: Barktoberfest is a free, family—and dog-friendly community festival this Saturday, October 5th. It features a morning Wag & Walk, awesome vendor booths, and food trucks.
