This week's speaker is Nikki Streengan, Housing Manager at Placer County Economic Development & Housing. She will provide an update on housing in the region and showcase key projects, programs, policies, and partnerships. Explore region-specific programs and policies tailored to our community's unique needs and discover how they are working to enhance our community’s access to affordable housing.
Mindscape Fermentations
Last week, the club went on a field trip to Mindscape Fermentations. This is an awesome place that is one of Rocklin's gems. Mindscape Fermentations is a women-owned and operated brewery that opened with the vision of bringing a unique spin to the craft beer industry. With sustainability and health consciousness at the foundation of its development. They are focusing on creating products that both feel good and taste good. The word probiotic literally translates to “supporting life’ and having beneficial microbes as the core of their creations, they hope to perpetuate well-being in our community and in the environment.
Besides the incredible lunch, Lauren and Lauren dazzled us with their depth of knowledge of the craft brew industry and the many creations they create for us to try.

In less than a week, we have a couple of opportunities for you to Expand Your Rotary brand position, get the word out, and support some great organizations.
On Saturday, October 11th, we will attend the Placer SPCA Wags & Walk event. This new event replaces Barktoberfest, which usually occurs around this time. Get your leash, rally your pack, and join us for Placer SPCA’s first-ever community fun run for animal lovers and their canine companions.
Then, on Sunday, October 12th, we will be at the RockPAL Cornhole Tournament. The Rocklin Police Activities League invites you and your partner to compete in the 3rd Annual Cornhole Tournament fundraiser- helping to raise funds for Rocklin youth!

Also coming up in less than two weeks is the Feed My Starving Children event. Please join us and other Rotarians for the 15th Annual Placer Feed My Starving Children MobilePack on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 11:00 am at St. Matthew Church on Placer Corporate Drive in Rocklin. Families are welcome, including kids as young as 5, and there are jobs for everyone, including those who’d prefer to sit for the two-hour shift.
