Toys for Tots
This week's speaker is Mathew Vidosh, who will be sharing about the Toys for Tots program. It is more than a Christmastime charity—it is a year-round force for good. The Program provides hope and emotional support to economically disadvantaged children throughout the year—whenever it is needed most. Because needs aren’t seasonal, and neither is Toys for Tots.
District Youth Protection Program
Last week, we had Dick Fowler, the District Youth Protection Chair. He covered youth protection awareness and club certification. Shared why this is important and about the youth protection policy and certification. Awareness training and volunteer screening, as well as reporting guidelines, were covered.
Barktoberfest
Last Saturday, October 5th, was Barktoberfest, a free, family—and dog-friendly community festival. It features a morning Wag & Walk, awesome vendor booths, food trucks, and a Biergarten.
Below, Craig, Bill, and Randy are doing a fine job managing the brews at the Biergarten.
Below, Michelle, Tony, and Stacy are operating and hanging out at the club booth and sharing all about the club and our annual Brewfest event.
Feed My Starving Children
The Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) food pack event is a volunteer-driven activity where participants pack meals that are distributed to children and families in need around the world.
On Saturday, October 19th, our club and volunteers, along with other community organizations, will gather at St Mathews Church. We will work together in assembly lines to pack meals for children and families in need. Please sign up and join in on a very good cause.
Below, we have a picture from last year's event; what a great turnout of support. Let's make this year even better.
