Each year, National Read Across America Day is celebrated on March 2nd, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The annual event is part of Read Across America, an initiative on reading created by the National Education Association. Since the event is designed to encourage reading in children and is fostered through the schools, when March 2nd lands on a weekend, the day is observed on the closest school day.
This week's speaker is our very own Chris Delaney, and the Brewfest Committee. This is our annual kick-off to Brewfest. The Rocklin Brewfest is Placer County's Premier Beer Event, put on by our club, the premier club of District 5180. This is our big fundraising event, so don't miss our Rocklin Brewfest kick-off. It is an opportunity to learn about the event and how you can help support and volunteer.
DIG - Rotary International
Last week's speaker was Rita Doppenberg, President of Dream Invest Grow (DIG). She shared about the DIG mission to uplift Mayan communities through sustainable support and empowerment, rooted in respect and love, while inviting others to experience the transformative joy of service through our mission and purposeful travel experiences.

What's Happening in Rotary
Expedition Baja is coming up, and it's a great opportunity to travel, serve, and change lives. It is a trip that is uniquely suited to Rotarians. Not only will Rotarians work hard on the Camp Hope Project, but they will also be exposed to the people and cuisine of rural Baja California.
We have the following club service events coming up.
Run Rocklin, March 29th - Provide water on the course with our Interact clubs and present awards to runners at the finish line. - Contact Randy Green on how you can help
Adopt a Creek Program, April 25th - an environmental initiative where the club "adopts" a section of a creek or waterway to help maintain and protect it. The program is run by the City of Rocklin. - Contact Ken Broadway on how you can help
More information on these and other service projects to come. Keep an eye out for updates in the newsletters and our events calendar on the club site.
