Upcoming speaker Kim Summers, the CEO of Placer Valley Tourism, will share the organization's mission to increase tourism through recruiting a wide variety of events, from corporate to sports to performing arts activities, in our area.   

 

 

 

Last week's speaker, Rotarian Ray Riehle, vividly recounted his trip to Antarctica. We heard about an amazing trip, including seasickness, amazing icebergs, sea lions, and lots of penguins. It was an experience of a lifetime.  

Our first project for the 2024-2025 year, Shop with a Cop, took place last Saturday, August 10. Ten kids from local elementary schools were paired up with a Rocklin policeman. They were given a backpack and a full breakfast provided by Granite Rock Grill. After this, they toured the facility and then piled into the squad car for a trip to the local Target store. Each child then picked out all the school supplies they needed.  

Our South Placer Rotary Club funded the event and had three members on hand to provide support, including Rich Abdalah, Shelly Schumacher, and Chris Delaney.
