Live Aid was a monumental dual-venue benefit concert held on July 13, 1985. Organized by musicians Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, the event aimed to raise funds for the devastating famine in Ethiopia. It featured simultaneous performances at Wembley Stadium in London and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia.
This week's speaker is Lisa Heinrich, Director of Development and Communications of Feeding the Foothills (formerly, Placer Food Bank). She will be sharing about their programs and mission to sustain communities by nourishing families experiencing food insecurity, educating the community about hunger, while advocating for hunger relief.
Rotary Year Kickoff
Last week's speaker was our own 2026/27 Club President, Twiana Armstrong. She shared RI and our club's mission, as well as what the club's goals are for the new Rotary Year. Some of the areas of focus are on continuing the momentum of growth and community engagement to create a lasting impact through Service Above Self.
Twiana presents Damian, our past president, with his pin.
Rotary International Presidential Message: The guiding directive for the year is "Create Lasting Impact". The message shifts focus toward sustainability, long-term project results, and building upon the previous year's networking foundations.
