The Demotion/Promotion Dinner was a success! As usual the bell disappeared by the end of the meeting. Our Dinner at Il Fornaio was exquisite and allowed us to come together outside of our usual meetings to better connect and share accolades for a few outstanding members.
Ron set the tone of his term by asking each of us to invite more guests so we can increase our membership. Also that doing one act of kindness each day not only upholds who we are as Rotarians, but exemplifies how we live the 4 way test.
Our club is once again helping to lead a Rotary session at this fall's Feed My Starving Children MobilePack at William Jessup University in Rocklin. Mark your calendar for an Oct. 20 pack from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
To help pay for the meals Rotary will pack, the Feed My Starving Children group is hosting its one and only fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Randy Peters Catering in Roseville.
Randy and Lisa Peters are graciously donating their space, food, and service for the evening, which will also feature local craft brews like Monk's and Loomis Basin, along with local wines. Fox 40's Paul Robins is our MC.
We are asking Club members to buy tickets to the event -- just $35 each -- to help raise money for Feed My Starving Children. Yes, food, wine and beer for just $35 -- best of all the $35 pays for 160 meals we will pack at our MobilePack in October. We are also looking for sponsors and auction items.
The goal is that rather than having clubs make contributions that we can make this fundraiser successful by working with Feed My Starving Children.
Dr. Merlin Switzer spoke with us this past week about Managing Conflict. In addition to being part of William Jessup's MBA faculty he is the founder of Switzer and Associates Leadership Solutions. Thier Mission is to serve as a catalyst to equip, inspire, and support executive leaders in becoming better stewards of their businesses and personal lives.
Brian Moore - Invited our club to Pour wine at the State Fair. Our Services were met with Save Mart employees at their Wine garden. Despite the heat the event was a success with many 5180 clubs joining to fill the time slots... and many glasses with wine!

Coach Roz - director of Playmakers was our speaker. Playmakers is involved in mentoring difficult kids and involves many college athletes in this development of character, leadership and reading program. The Rotary 4-Way Test is taught to 3rd graders! There are plans to start this after school program at Antelope Creek beginning of September 2018.
