Susanville Sunrise Rotary member Steve King gave a presentation today on the role of the Public Defender. Three attorneys serve inmates at two large prisons in Lassen County, and the prosecutor works as a contract employee of the District Attorney's office. Noting that CA has some of the toughest laws in the nation, he said his role is to do his best to ensure that inmates are treated fairly under the law. Good presentation - thanks, Steve!
