2013 Nevada Day
District 5190's Rotary Youth Exchange students come to Carson City, Nevada to celebrate the Nevada Day Parade!

Nevada was admitted to statehood on October 31, 1864, and Carson City Sunset Rotary and Carson City Rotary met up this past weekend to celebrate Nevada’s birthday! What a fun filled weekend it was! We had around 20 Rotary Youth Exchange students from all over District 5190 join us, where they were able to spend a very busy and fun filled weekend together. The students began their weekend with dinner and fun Friday night. On Saturday, they walked the Nevada Day Parade chanting ‘Happy Nevada Day’ and singing ‘Happy Birthday, Nevada’ in celebration. They were able to tour the Jack C. Davis Observatory and they finished their weekend off Sunday with a day in Virginia City, touring the old mining town.
