Judge Walker was appointed by Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval to serve as the presiding judge in Department 2 of the Second Judicial District Court of the State of Nevada on March 10, 2011. He was thereafter elected to serve the remainder of Judge Hardy's former term in 2012, and was elected for a six-year term again in 2014. He is currently responsible for the Juvenile Division, which includes both the Juvenile Delinquency and Juvenile Dependency business units.

Prior to taking the District Court bench, Judge Walker worked as a Family Court Master, a position he held from January 3, 2009 until his appointment by Governor Sandoval. As a Court Master, Judge Walker re-worked the child support dockets to increase both the volume of cases heard in court, and the total number of cases resolved without a court hearing. He also assisted in the development of the Self Represented Litigant program, a program designed to better manage cases in which at least one of the parties appears without counsel.

Judge Walker is a board director of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, board member of the Children's Cabinet, a past Rotarian and a student in graduate judicial education at the University of Nevada/National Judicial College.

Joey Orduna Hastings returns to the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) as chief executive officer, having started her career in 2001 as a model court liaison and manager, positions she held during her tenure.

She most recently held the position of assistant county manager of administration and finance for Washoe County, where she oversaw Technology Services, Human Resources, the Comptroller’s Office and the Registrar of Voters Office.

Orduna Hastings has a wide-ranging experience at the Second Judicial District Court, where she was the court administrator and clerk of court, which included oversight of court operations, programs, policy development and fiscal responsibilities. She was integral in communicating with city, county and state officials about various issues facing our region.

She also served as the legislative coordinator for Governor Brian Sandoval in 2011. She worked with the Governor’s staff to communicate and coordinate legislative matters and research. Orduna Hastings is a graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law and the University of Nevada, Reno. She is currently the vice chair of the Nevada Women’s Fund.
