Joint Meeting With RC Reno South
Our speaker will be Kim Mazeres. Kim is retired from the utility business. She defected from a 19-year career at Sierra Pacific Power Company / NV Energy after she helped sell off the water division, joining in building the new water agency -- Truckee Meadows Water Authority. She spent 15 years at TMWA before retiring to chase grandkids and do whatever the heck she wants to do whenever she wants to do it!
In the five years since her retirement, Kim has continued her nearly 20 year membership in Reno Rotary, where she is involved in many youth services, particularly the Achievement Beyond Obstacles Scholarship Program, as well as the Riverside Garden Project. Outside of Rotary, besides chasing her 5 and 6 year old granddaughters, Kim volunteers with Compassion and Choices, as they strive to pass a Medical Aid in Dying law here in Nevada. At our meeting she will talk to us about that endeavor, including why she choose to get involved.
