Our guest speaker will be Chas Macquarie. Chas is a member, and past president, of the Rotary Club of Carson City and has been a Rotarian for 21 years. He was active in Rotary Youth Exchange at both the club and district levels for many years and is a past chair of the District RYE Committee. He is a Paul Harris Fellow.
This presentation briefly recaps the impacts of global warming on Nevada and Rotary projects at home and abroad; talks about the primary cause of global warming – that too much carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gasses (GHGs) are being put into the atmosphere; talks about recent national and international progress in GHG reduction; and describes some approaches to achieve the GHG reductions necessary to avoid the worst impacts of a warming planet.
