John Potter - Reno Broadcaster
Longtime Reno broadcaster John Potter began his on-air career after earning his BA from Valparaiso University in Indiana. With 10 years on TV and radio in Las Vegas and over 25 years in Reno, he has spent most of his life in Nevada. His 20 years at KTVN Channel 2 ended in 2021.
John is a local Elk and former board member for charities like Easter Seals and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. He was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2001 and awarded Celebrity of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in 2004. He won a Mark Twain Journalism Award from the Associated Press Association in 2008.
John is all that and a bag of Fritos, and gives thanks for his God-given talents everyday.
