"It was a fun year!"

Boy, did this Rotary year fly by!

Geri and I had a great time as your President and First Lady. Thank you so much for the honor and trust you gave us during the year.

We had our successes and fun along the way.  Any club success certainly is attributable to all the members who contributed their “Time, Talent, and Treasure” to the events and activities during the year.

Of all the goals we met and surpassed this year that we can be proud, four stand out…

• Membership growth: 13 new members and total membership of 70.

• Total Rotary Foundation contributions by members of $17, 540 with almost $2,500 directly to Polio Plus.   This represents a $205 per capita total contribution which is one the highest among the 58 clubs in District 5190.

• Our fundraiser this year netted over $50,000

• And we had some great parties, the Mystery Bus Trip (beer tasting), the annual Christmas Party, Valentine’s Dinner (beer tasting, again), and the Demotion Party (more beer!)

So, at this point of the year, the “club crown and scepter” have already been passed to President Regina. She did a super job as president-elect and leading the fundraiser to great success.  I know we’re in very capable hands for next year.

The “reign” of the Rainey’s (thank you, David Ward!) is ending, but Geri and I will take away such fond memories of our presidential year.
