The Hug High School Jazz Choir is excited to present the following musical program:
The Lion Sleeps Tonight, by the Tokens
Blue Skies, by Irving Berlin
Blues Down to My Shoes, by Kirby Shaw, and
Run to the Manger, also by Kirby Shaw.
This enthusiastic musical ensemble is Hug High School's first Jazz Choir! It is made up of 17 students, freshman through senior,and is one of Hug High School's premier performing ensembles. They specialize in tight harmonies, beautiful acapella singing, and engaging stage presence. A majority of their performance repertoire is drawn from jazz and other popular styles of music.
This bright, talented group will be performing at various jazz festivals in the Western states this year, including the Reno Jazz Festival and possibly the Clackamas Jazz Festival in Oregon City, Oregon. They are also becoming a popular performing group at local organization and district events. They are currently booking opportunities to perform locally for private, work, organizational, or public parties; and would happily accept donations toward their festival travel fund.
