Club Members Recognized During District Governor Visit

During the recent visit to our club by District 5190 Governor Vicki Puliz several club members were recognize for their leadership and commitment to Rotary, the Rotary Foundation, and our club.

Energizer Award: Chuck Alvey  

         Chuck is a Rotary Club past president and brings to our club energy, a understanding of Rotary and commitment that started on the first day of his induction. During our annual search for future leaders, Chuck immediately stepped forward to place himself in nomination for vice president and committed to running for president-elect in 2014-15.

          As vice president this year, he volunteered to chair the membership committee knowing how strategically important member recruitment and retention are to our club’s future. From his past Rotary leadership experience, he knew the connection between successful membership recruitment and retention, and interesting and compelling weekly programs, Chuck volunteered to be Programs Chair. To date, it’s been Chuck’s energy and commitment that has brought six new members into the club with two more under consideration.

Quiet Rotarian: Dewey Struble 

       The Quiet Rotarian is a member who continues to make contributions to our club and Rotary without the want for recognition.

         This year the Quiet Rotarian award goes to one of our charter members and past president, Dewey Struble, who for over thirty years could be counted on to always say “yes” to whatever has been asked of him to contribute to our club and Rotary.  Every year he leads one of your popular fellowship activities the annual ski competition.

         Recently, Dewey has faced some serious health issues, but even after taking a leave of absence, he continues his club responsibilities and attends meetings and activities as his health permits.  With his leave of absence, he is able to maintain his 30 years of perfect attendance.

         Dewey is a “one of a kind” Rotarian whose dedication, commitment, and courage is exemplary. We are all very proud of Dewey as a club member.

District Foundation Service Award: Bob Jacobson 

        Bob has put new life into your Foundation efforts with great organizational talents and commitment.  Since becoming Foundation Chair he has attended all the District training and with his efforts your club exceeded last year’s contribution goals by almost 30%. He is very diligent in making sure members are recognized for their contributions and provides timely information on the good work of the Foundation

Paul Harris Fellows Honored

         First time Paul Harris Fellows, Vic Delossantos and Brian Beffort, along with multiple pin recipients, Mark Miller, past president Greg Krause, and Bob Jacobson receive their pins from District Governor Vicki Puliz.
