April 1, 2014 - The Rotary Club of Portola held a special evening meeting to honor local fire departments with the Distinguished Service Citation Award! Thank you to our volunteer fire departments! This meeting also embraced a potluck dinner and a fun evening ending with a dessert bake off competition. Elizabeth Nelson won the best dessert, New Zealand Pavlova, she learned to make it 41 years ago.
