DECORATING THE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL ROSE PARADE FLOAT

There's our float in progress, notice the scaffolding and all the Rotarians from various clubs working on it.  The people on the walkway above are not workers/volunteers, they are on a tour to see the floats up close and watch all the activity.

There they are hard at work, not me cuz I'm taking the picture.  The AWESOME volunteers from the Rotary Club of Portola, on the left Van Vanderveen, Renata Vanderveen & Ann Taylor.  On the right Ralph Taylor at the far end and my hubby Kevin LaPlant in the denim jacket.

And there is the finished product, made up of hundreds of small white carnation petals. 

Here we are again, don't we look cute! Notice we are all bundled up, it's pretty cold in the building.... got to keep the flowers fresh.

Rotary International President Sakuji Tanaka & Rotary Club of Portola President Gloria LaPlant placing roses on the float.  He was very pleased with the design of the float as it represented his theme "Peace through Service" with Rotary wheels, Peace cranes, cherry blossoms and the World (which rotated along with the wheels) at the center.

Our BEAUTIFUL!! Float with RI President Sakuji Tanaka seated on the front right side of the float with a baseball cap and 5190 District Governor Sam "Woody" Wilbanks at the right rear of the float looking cool in his sunglasses.  Notice the Rotary International sign, we made that with lots & lots & lots of small white carnation petals.
