The Rockton-Roscoe Rotary Club volunteered on a hot June night to help distribute food at the South Beloit Food Pantry in South Beloit, IL.  The pantry is traditionally set up for the guests to choose their food in a grocery type style and the volunteers help the guests carry the food to their vehicles.  However, due to COVID-19, the pantry sorts the food and divides it into individual boxes.  The volunteers carry the boxes outside and load the food into each car in a drive-thru fashion.  We served over 70 cars during the June 3rd event.  The pantry partners with the Northern Illinois Food Bank who supplies the food.  We provided fresh vegetables, dry goods, frozen foods, refrigerated foods, milk, water, and other food and household supplies.  The pantry is held twice a month.  The next pantry night is scheduled for June 17, 2020.  Thank you to the organizers of the pantry and all of the volunteers! #peopleofaction #rotaryresponds #communityservice
