Rotary District 6420 Conference Held at Jumers

Rotary 6420 District Conference

WOW!!   District Governor Ruth Lee made the new concept of a fall conference an incredible success!   Over 185 Rotarians attended the event this past weekend at Jumer's Casino and Hotel in Rock Island.   The Plenary Sessions were fantastic with a wide variety of very engaging and interesting speakers!   Highlights included Literacy, Water and Sanitation Project in Guatemala, Polio, Vocational Training Team Updates, Youth Exchange, Mission Project in Uganda and even "Cowboy Logic" from PRIP Ray Klinginsmith.  To add even more to the event, we were entertained by the Quad Cites own Ellis Kell, Edgar Crockett and the UT Hip Hop dancers.   It was easy to feel proud of being a Rotarian and realize how we are changing lives in many different ways!   The next District Conference will revert back to the spring date and will be held in the Quad Cites at the Hotel Blackhawk during the month of May, 2015.   If you've never attended a District Conference you're missing out on an amazing opportunity to be truly engaged!

Moline Rotarians attending the District Conference included Vice President Deni McCarter, Sgt. At Arms Tom Bracke, Board members Jim Graham, Jennifer Kress and Gary Francque, and members Vicky Miller, Jan Garmong, and Joy Boruff. The Conference included activities for District 6420 Youth Exchange students, as well as Interact and Rotaract students. Our exchange student Antonio Leite attended as did MHS Interact Club candidates Koushhik Kumar and Michael Herrick. Check the Photo Album gallery for photos of the conference.
