Our last meeting, on May 22, saw former Moline Rotarian Dr. Art Pitz, and his wife Suzanne present a very informational program on White Field's work in Sierra Leone. After leaving our club, Art continued his Rotary journey by joining his local Rotary Club in the Chicago area. He also continued his efforts with White Fields, doing God's work in Sierra Leone, Africa. Art led our Moline Rotary over 10 years ago in a very successful fund-raising effort ($50,000) and proceeded to use those funds to do good work in Sierra Leone: digging fresh-water wells, helping the locals start and build a seed bank for growing crops, and overall helping the local people raise themselves up. Art and Suzanne were so well appreciated by the locals in Sierra Leone that Art was made a chief. It was good to see Art and Suzanne again, and good to see that they are continuing their good works in Sierra Leone. During each month, Rotarians can earn tickets that go into a jar. One ticket for every time you participate in a club service project, two tickets for each guest, five tickets if you sponsor a new member. During the last meeting of the month, we pull a name and give the card.
