Youth Exchange
Exchange Student Joao Miguel is very busy wrapping up his school year and trying every American experience that he can including:  
 
Joao's Cycling USA Challenge: Joao recently cycled Ben Butterworth Parkway, the new Iowa - Illinois Memorial Bridge, and the Mississippi River Trail, Bettendorf. The highlight was pausing on the bridge to view the Mississippi River valley.
 
 
Joao's fishing adventure: Joao is determined to become a fisherman in America. Recently he was hosted by members of the Moline High School fishing team on Miller's pond, Coal Valley, where he was guided about fishing for Bass, Bluegill, and Catfish, and then cleaning, preparing and frying the fish. 
 
 
American High School Graduation: Joao attended the 2024 Moline High School Commencement at Vibrant Center, where he experienced the thrill of watching several close friends who are seniors, graduate. Following the graduation Joao and other underclassmen celebrated completing the school year by enjoying another American cultural experience - Hooters Restaurant.
 
  
 
Moline High School Commencement 
469 seniors graduated Saturday June 1, 2024 at the Vibrant Center at the Mark. Moline - Coal Valley School District #40 Superintendent Dr. Rachel Savage reported impressive class accomplishments.
