It is with a heavy heart we report that Herb Thompson, a Rotarian since 1980, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at the age of 91. Not only did Herb had a successful career as a realtor in the Quad Cities for 40 years, he will be equally remembered for his basketball career at the University of Iowa, and as Moline High School’s basketball coach. He was named to both the Iowa High School Basketball Players Hall of Fame and the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of fame. Herb is survived by his four children – Scott (Rebecca) Thompson, Mark (Gail) Thompson, Laura Hamilton and Suzanne (Ron) Straus, as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The threat of nasty weather sent the Bass Street Landing concert in one direction, and our celebration for Alan in another! Moline Rotarians and guests celebrated Past President Alan Anderson's term at the Svithiod Club, Moline. Members enjoyed food, drinks, and camaraderie while fondly recalling Rotary memories of the past year. Past President Alan Anderson thanked members for their support and participation in club activities, and then introduced incoming President Laura Davis. A great time was had by all!!

The 18th hole at TPC Deere Run was successfully managed by dedicated members of Moline Rotary. Thank you all, for your commitment to our club. As you can tell, no one had any fun!
