Monday's meeting will feature our 2019-2020 Exchange Student from Belgium, Lucas Molle. He will be our special guest, along with his host mom and former Moline Rotarian, Angela Moody.
Our last meeting, we heard from Taekwondo Grandmaster Duane Spellious. He is the owner of Spellious Martial Arts, and he took the time to describe his life leading up to and including his career as 8th Degree Master.
Grandmaster Spellious had no trouble breaking a board during his demonstration!

We heard about his journey and the benefits of martial arts. We also witnessed a demonstration of board-breaking, and a special guest appearance from our own Eric VanWinkle, who is also a black belt, and showed us his own skills with breaking a board!

President Sam Moyer, Mark Carlson and Gary Francque attended a Rotary area membership meeting on August 28th at Pour Brothers, Moline. New members in our Rotary area were presented with an orientation to Rotary by Rotary District 6420 Membership Committee members.

Moline Rotary Club members Sam Moyer, Mark Carlson, Gary Francque, Deni McCarter, Tom Lahl, and Torri Smith attended the Illinois Quad Cities Rotary Clubs 5th Friday Rotary Social at Old Oaks Winery on August 30th. 5th Friday Rotary Social events will continue in the future.
