Last week's speaker was Anika Martin, Manager, Donors and Community Impact, with the John Deere Classic.

Anika Martin, Manager, Donors and Community Impact, with the John Deere Classic, and fellow Moline Rotarian.

We heard all about the upcoming John Deere Classic, and its impact on the community from our own Anika Martin. Anika talked about the volunteers and how each year the people of the Quad Cities come together to put on one of the premiere events of the year. She thanked Moline Rotary for their part in the annual event -- running the 18th hole from tee to green.

She talked about the Birdies for Charity program and the generous contributions made by not only Moline Rotarians, but the community at large, to make the John Deere Classic one of the top programs in the country.

Thank you, Anika, for all you do for our community through the JDC. And thank you for a wonderful presentation!

Youth Exchange:
Gary Francque announced an exciting new opportunity for Inbound Exchange Student Joao Miguel. In June Joao will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina to a former exchange student and his family. Soren, now a student at University of North Carolina, was a Rotary Exchange Student to Brazil in 2022 - 2023 and stayed with Joao's family in Sorocaba, Brazil. Joao has dreamed of once again connecting with Soren and meeting his family.

Member Service News:
Gary Francque expressed appreciation to Mark Carlson, Sam Moyer, and Deni McCarter for their participation in the Jordan Catholic School Golf Outing held on May 11th at Highland Springs Gold Course, Rock Island. The benefit raised funds for Jordan School Booster Club's programs for students. Jordan School hosts the only Rotary EarlyAct Club in the Quad Cities Area, one of only two in District 6420. EarlyAct Clubs are Rotary clubs for middle school students.
