Gary Francque and Melinda Urban updated us on some of our most recent Exchange Students that we have hosted over the years. As you can see, they continue to be outstanding young adults and all credit their Rotary experience with being an important part of their journeys!
Pierre Simmet France 2007-08: Now age 31, Pierre is currently taking classes at university in the field of culture and art. He states “The main aim and idea is to help beautiful, informative, thought-inducing content to be shared far and wide as much as possible.” He is healthy and happy. He states that he recalls the Rotary meetings with great fondness. All the warm and welcoming attitude was quite unlike anything he has ever seen before. He also stated “I am grateful, humbled, moved, more connected to my values and more aware of who I am, thanks to you (Rotary)”.
Ricardo Moscoso Brazil 2010-11: Soon after returning home Ricardo was awarded a swimming scholarship to University of the Cumberlands, Kentucky. The following year he received a swimming scholarship to University of Tampa, where he again excelled in swimming and academics, earning a Bachelors Degree in Finance & Investment. Ricardo then earned his Masters Degree in Finance with Honors, and was inducted into the International Society of Beta Gamma Sigma, which recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of collegiate business and management scholars. Ricardo, now age 29, is currently a CIB - Analyst, Treasury Services at J.P. Morgan, Chase & Co., Tampa, Florida.
Antonio Abreu - Leite Brazil 2013-14: After returning home Antonio attended college preparatory school for for a few years and then achieved his lifelong dream of being accepted into medical school. Antonio is currently a medical student at University of Vassouras, in Vassouras, Brazil. Now age 26, Antonio really loves his life as a medical student and also loves the Brazilian beaches and social life.
Antonia "Tonii" Gretschel Germany 2014-15: After returning home Tonii pursued her dream of becoming a flight attendant. Now age 24, Tonii attended flight attendant school and is currently serving as a flight attendant for German based Lufthansa Airlines.
Tenfu Matsushita Japan 2016-18: Tenfu returned home to finish his high school classes in Japan. A brilliant student, Tenfu was accepted at the University of Tokyo where he is now a senior majoring in International Relations, and Sociology. Tenfu served as president of the English Speaking Society club at UT and has become an outstanding orator, competing in and receiving awards and trophies for speech excellence in both Japanese and English, including two national championships. Tenfu is now age 21.
Halenka Pellichero Belgium 2017-18: Halenka's lifelong dream was to work in the fashion industry. After returning home to Belgium, Halenka was accepted at Université libre de Bruxelles (University of Brussels) where she studied fashion design, and lst year earned her Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design. Halenka was thrilled to serve an internship in Brussels with a brand called "4254", a sports fashion design group owned by former Olympic gold medal winners. After graduation Halenka moved back with her parents in Charleroi and has taken a management internship in preparation for her fashion design career. Halenka has been actively involved in designing a line of clothing, purses, and shoes. Halenka is now age 21. |
