Last week's speaker was Dan McNeil with Spring Forward Summer Learning Camp. Spring Forward provides after-school and summer programs to help kids realize their academic potential.
Since its inception, Spring Forward has supported thousands of students in kindergarten through 6th grade, helping them to increase literacy, academic, and social skills through fun and engaging out-of-school programming.
Their mission is to provide educational programs at no cost to enhance the lives of families in our community.
In 1999, seeing a need in the community for a safe, controlled environment where kids could go after school, parishioners at Good Shepherd Presbyterian church in Rock Island, Illinois started Spring Forward Learning Center as a mission project. The program, which served about 40 students from Audubon Elementary, quickly expanded to include homework help and tutoring. By 2007, the growing need for after-school programming motivated the church to establish a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization so that it could support even more schools in the district.
In 2009, Spring Forward Learning Center added a second program site at First Presbyterian Church in Milan, springboarding steady expansion that would grow to include seven after-school and nine summer programming sites, as well as a family literacy program and sports clubs.

Dictionaries
Dictionaries were successfully delivered last week to Moline 3rd Graders! The students were excited!! Thank you, Jenni Swanson and the entire Literacy Committee and the Rotarians who volunteered to hand them out. Your Service Above Self makes a big difference to those kids, and our entire community.
Youth Exchange
Moline Rotary Club is actively seeking a Youth Exchange host family for the 2023-24 school year. Host families must be confirmed in April 2023.
Gift Certificate Give-a-way Alert!!
During each month, Rotarians can earn tickets that go into a jar. One ticket for every time you participate in a club service project, two tickets for each guest, five tickets if you sponsor a new member. During the last meeting of the month, we pull a name and give the card.
The Four-Way Test: Of the things we think, say, or do: Is it the Truth? Is it Fair to all concerned? Will it build Good Will and Better Friendships? Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?
