Last meeting's speaker was Patrick Van Nevel, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Belgium and Board member of the Center for Belgian Culture of Western Illinois. See Google slides for presenter content.
Highlights of his program included the immigration of Belgians in the late 1800s and early 1900s, the purpose and services provided by the Center for Belgian Culture of Western Illinois, the CBC Museum at 1608 - 7th Street, Moline.
Moline Rotarians are invited to attend the Center for Belgian Culture's 2024 Belgian Fest to be held on Sunday September 15th noon to 4pm at Stephens Park Moline.
Last year's inbound, Joao Miguel, has re-assimilated to life back in Brazil. He has returned to work at his family business in the stock room, and has returned to his high school and will graduate in December 2024. Meanwhile his family has begun hosting another Rotary International Exchange student in their home, so Joao is now a host brother again.
Past Exchange Student to Visit:
Moline Rotary Club will once again host a visit from a past Exchange Student. Lucas Molle, our 2019-2020 Inbound Student will return to the Quad Cities September 1st through September 10th, staying with his former host family Angela and John Moody. Lucas will visit Moline Rotary on September 9th.
