Last Meeting's Speaker

Last week saw the club socializing together at the Annual Fall Picnic meeting. It was held at the beautiful new pavilion at Riverside Park dedicated to our good friend, the late Glenn Medhus.

Our latest group of Student Rotarians were able to join us and introduced themselves to the club.

Students (left to right): Andrew Grau, Jordan Wang, Akira Ketner, Abigail Jackson, Caitlyn Neill, and Skyler Chandlee.

Welcome students! We look forward to getting to know you better.

Grant Service Project:
Each year our Rotary Club is invited to apply for a 50/50 matching grant for some local community need.  This year Moline Rotary combined with Twin Rivers After hours Club and the East Moline/Silvis Club to pool our resources to triple our impact.  We have been able to combine almost $7,000 to provide much needed hygiene kits to area schools and the YWCA.

These kits are in high demand and can make a huge impact on the lives of our young women.  Kits will be placed at area and Moline middle and High Schools.

We need your help with Loading, Setting up, and Assembling all the products.

We need:
  • 2-3 people to help load supplies on Friday at 5pm.  This is not heavy work and should take about1 hour.  The location is near 10th Street and 25th - avenue. Please email me, call, or text if you are able to help.
  • 3-4 people to help unload and set up at 8am this Saturday at the YWCA on 17th Street and 5th Avenue in Rock Island (513 17th).
  • 8-10 people to help assemble kits at 9am at the YWCA.  We expect this to take around 2 hours.
