June 27th we welcomed Stacy Klingler, Executive Director at Butterworth Center & Deere-Wiman House. Located in the Overlook District of Moline, both historic homes once belonged to John Deere’s descendants but are now operated by the William Butterworth Foundation. They serve as year-round sites for quality educational and cultural events, meeting space for not-for-profit organizations, and tours for local, national, and international visitors.
Not-for-profit and educational groups that support activities such as lifelong learning, music, art, drama, literature, and health may use the buildings. William Butterworth Foundation sites may not be used for activities that carry on propaganda or attempt to influence legislation. The Executive Director determines the appropriateness of an event at the time a reservation is made.
The William Butterworth Foundation receives no financial support from the City of Moline or Deere & Company.
Drop-in tours (except for holidays) are offered on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, beginning at the Deere-Wiman House at 2:30p. Donations are appreciated. Tours for groups of 10 or larger are offered by appointment, weekdays. Contact or 309-743-2701. Suggested minimum donation for bus tours is $2 per person to view one house or $4 per person to view both houses. Sunday guided tours are offered July 7 – August 25 beginning at 2:30p at Deere-Wiman House.
