September 13, 2014 was our club visit to Arrow of God Orphanage. This visit was planned to coincide with the District Governor’s official visit to our club. The DG had rescheduled his visit, so the Assistant Governor supervising our club stood in for him on this project. The visit was brief. After the children had made a short presentation of welcome song to us, the Secretary to the home made a welcome speech and the club made the presentation of gift items that we brought.
Potable Water Projects at Sangotedo and Langbasa, these were two projects of a kind. Both projects provide drinkable water to school children - 3200 of them in three schools in Sangotedo (Eti-Osa Community Senior and Junior High Schools and Sangotedo Primary School) and about 1000 children in Langbasa Primary School. They both together have four drinking houses, one for each school and extensions to support the Communities.
There are 35 or so Secondary Schools in the District III Educational Zone of Lagos State. Our club is located in this zone. There are no less than 40,000 Children in those schools.
English Language is the official medium of communication in Nigeria and forms the most popular medium when combined with its other corrupted formats spoken everywhere within the borders of Nigeria. Hence the absolute necessity that being proficient in English is a requirement for development in many areas.
