Dave Sundstrom is a member of Reno Sunrise Rotary Club; Ryder Evans is a member of our own Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club. Both are ambassadors for ShelterBox.
ShelterBox has a goal of helping people rebuild and be self-sufficient after a disaster. It partners with Rotary International and has served 3 million people since it was created.
Tools, cooking supplies, water purifiers, blankets and solar-powered flashlights and lanters are included in their kits, modified to meet the particular needs. The solar-powered lights have USB ports to charge cell phones. The kits are often put together using local sources which provides economic benefits as well.
An estimated 130 million individuals are displaced worldwide. ShelterBox is there to help them get back on their feet.
