For the second time in the current Rotary Year of 2020-21, the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise will support the funding of a project for Chispa Project Honduras.

This project, approved in May of 2021, will access a District Designated Grant, with matching club grants from six District 5060 Canadian clubs from the “Wine Country Cluster Clubs” for a school library in La Paz, Honduras.  The project will involve the installation of the school library, the purchase and placement of 700 books and library materials, and training for the staff, parents and students.  Considering that Honduras has been particularly affected by Covid-19, the loss of education has been significant.  The La Paz Rotary Club has agreed to help with the installation of the library.

The total donations, including $US800 from the Kelowna Sunrise club, is $US3842.50.  When matched with the DDF Grant, the total project resulted in a cost of $US7685.
