              ALBURY CHILDCARE CENTRE

The Rotary Club of Albury North assisted the committee of the Albury Occasional Childcare Centre in building a new Childcare Centre valued at over half a million dollars and able to accommodate 30 children. Our club provided project management while several club members including engineers, electricians, architects, accountants and solicitors gave many hours of their time free of charge.

Our partner in the project, Albury TAFE , provided apprentices to work on the building construction to give them valuable practical experience.

Albury City Council and the NSW Government each contributed over $200,000 while local suppliers provided many materials at cost.

Rotarian Graham Allchurch who was the project manager is able to provide further information if required, while Rotarian Alastair Macdonald was the link to TAFE and can provide more information on this aspect of the project.

The Albury Occasional Childcare Centre, which opened in April, 2009 was two years in the planning and took eight months to build.

Staff and parents are obviously delighted with their new facility and have expressed their gratitude to Rotary for helping to make their plans a reality.
