Cupboard is bare; Rotarians lend helping hand

The shelves at the Mission Food Pantry are bare, and the Rotary Club of Mission is lending a hand with a canned food drive throughout the summer, according to Lindslee Brunson, Rotary president.

With school out for the summer, and families now having to supply meals that would normally be provided by the school food programs, several Rotarians and others have volunteered their businesses as drop-off points for the drive.

Members of the community can drop off any non-perishable food items at any of the following locations: Progress Times, 1217 N Conway; Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites, 901 S Shary Rd.; Edward Jones, Eva Mullis, 122 Shary Rd., Ste. E; First Choice Power, 2423 E Expressway 83, Ste. 400; Mission CISD, 1201 Bryce; Mission Police Department, 1200 E. 8th Street; and Mission City Hall, 1201 E. 8th Street.
