Solid Strength - Nakita
Last week was a vocational night to meet with and chat to Nikita Heeb, from Solid Strength Studio gym.  Nakita shared her life story and her passion to help others and teach them about health and healing.

Nakita has been in the fitness industry going on 12 years now.  Her initial desire going into the industry was to assist individuals improve their quality of life through the implementation of exercise intervention.  She has always had a passion for one-on-one personal training and knew that was what she wanted to do, although, she has had experience as a group fitness instructor in her previous workplace, in her eyes one-on-one coaching is the gold standard.

Nakita has invested in ongoing education from some of the best in the industry not only in Australia, but across the world.  To this day she is still invested in those high level mentors to ensure she is educated from the best, she prides Solid Strength Studio on its reputation for excellence in service and delivery with the application of evidence based practise.
In 2016 Nakita suffered the gift of injury that led her to discovering her greatest passion, working with low back pain.

She has invested in additional education in this area to not only assist in her own journey but to ensure she could understand the best prevention methods for her clients when engaging in physical activity and for those who seek out her services with a previous history of low back pain.  Her mission is to fill the gap and ensure individuals in regional communities have access to professionals who are educated in this area, who have compassion, empathy and the skills to assist them on their journey to recovery and optimal wellbeing.

Nakita founded Solid Strength Studio in 2017, a private, personal training studio that specialises in one-on-one coaching.

She commenced her university degree in Exercise Sports Science, Exercise Physiology in 2017 and is now over half way and loving her studies, an exercise physiologist is the highest level of an exercise professional specialising in exercise prescription for the prevention and management of chronic health conditions and she looks forward to finishing her degree and providing the community and surrounds this clinical service.

A brief history of educational services Nakita has provided in the past:
*  2015/2016 - face to face education for the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers (teaching Cert III and IV in Fitness).
*  2018-2020 – several in house education session for Rise & Shine Fitness trainers and members.
*  2022 – face to face education in Wagga Wagga for National Fitness College at Empire Gym and Snap Fitness educating current and oncoming trainers.
*  2022 – in-house education in Wodonga at AMAT educating trainers.
*  2023 – in-house education at Studio 9 Fitness for trainers and members.
*  2023 – commenced a 12 month role as the trainer and assessor for Cert III in Fitness with WRCC in Griffith.

In Nakita’s own words:
“I love my role as a coach and I am so grateful for those who invest into Solid Strength and most importantly put their trust in me.  I am also very passionate about educating others in the industry to improve the standard.  I love training also, I have previous experience as a fitness model (Bodybuilding) and in the last 12 months I have taken my running more seriously and achieved some of my own personal goals.
I have big visions for what lies ahead at Solid Strength Studio and many projects in the making.”

Nakita is currently studying at university to be an Exercise Physiologist, one of the highest exercise professional qualifications using evidence based research on exercise programming to help rehabilitate and manage acute and/or chronic injuries and health conditions.   The Club wishes Nakita best wishes and good luck in her quest for graduating as an Exercise Physiologist.

Carmel’s Brain Teaser

So for all the clever ones who told me last weeks answer was wrong because it related to the Northern Hemisphere and therefore would not be considered a plausible answer, here is an Australian brain teaser for you, so if you can work this one out…….

A farmer in Australia growers a beautiful pear tree, which he harvests to supply fruit to all the nearby grocery stores.

One of the store owners has called the farmer to see how much fruit is available that he can buy.  Unfortunately, the farmer isn’t currently near the tree, so he has to work it out in his head.

He knows that the main trunk of the tree has 24 branches.  That each branch has 12 boughs and that each bough has only got 6 twigs.  Each one of these twigs bears one piece of fruit, so how many plums will he be able to sell to the store owners?

Carmel’s Optical Illusion Photo

Four alarm fire?
Or geological magic?  The rising sun lights up the fiery sandstone walls of Utah’s Mule Canyon, a real-life optical illusion above these Anasazi ruins.  Visitors have named the site House on Fire, and it’s easy to see why. These dwellings are estimated to be more than 800 years old.  Take a look inside, and you’ll get a sense of the human history of the place:  Smoke stains on the roof tell the story of evenings in, long ago.  Answer:  None!  He doesn’t own a plum tree, he owns a pear tree.

A Weekend of Good Times

Last Saturday some Rotarians joined the Inner Wheel ladies for a nice lunch at the Grong Grong Pub.  A good time to chat and enjoy each other’s company, with the special of the day, beer battered fish and chips proving extremely popular.

Despite the cooler weather, many took the opportunity on the way home to make a quick stop at ‘The Yard’ in Narrandera for a scoop or two of gelato.

On Sunday members of the Rotary Club of Leeton hit the road again for a trip to Wagga Wagga.  They were joined by some Wheel ladies and friends.  Following a lovely lunch at the ‘Sporties’.  After lunch it was time to get back in the cars, for our destination to Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre to watch the ‘Pirates of Penznace’.

A great weekend was had by all who participated in these events.
